I'm not sure I understand the question?
I replaced the master on my '92 with a Vatozone unit bolted in nicely and worked fine until well after I sold that car. I did move the reservoir off the old unit and put in on the new one.
so i blew out the master cylinder on my '99 at the track a few months ago. time to fix it! the new part (from o'reilly, or vato-zone, or wherever) doesn't include the reservoir. the instructions seem straight forward, lube the rubber pieces that go from the reservoir to the new part, insert and replace the screw. interestingly, this is where my current part failed...so naturally i'm skeptical. i even called the stealership for a new stock part, and they are on a permanent back-order. soooo....any experts feel like sharing some advice?!
i need a better phrase...
