Vis racing hood a yes or no

I'm thinking about getting a vis racing hood with the one open vent right about the engine. I was thinking what would happen if it rained or just normal weather conditions? Would it harm my engine? If it does what would happen?

If the opening will allow water to get on the cam cover you will most likely end up with water in your spark plug wells.

That's what I've been told as well. Would it make any diff if I got a tighter fit on the plug wires?

No...the boots have a small hole in them to allow water vaper to escape, or in your case large amounts of water in. And before you ask no do not plug that hole.
