My former '92 currently has that bar with striker plates and no issues. You sure it's a HT-friendly bar?
Anybody else experience fitment issues with the side striker plates & a HDHCHTDD rollbar? It seems like I have to grind about 1/8" for it to fit. I'm trying to avoid using SM brackets if possible.

I have this bar and run it with a hardtop with no grinding without a problem. It sounds like you could have ended up with the M2HDHCDD (non-HT version).
It might be a manufacturing issue. The prior owner of my rollbar complained that it rubbed his hard top. I don't plan on getting a hard top so it is not an issue to me. I helped gabkwong put his hard top on his NB not long ago, and it is a very tight fit.

which part did you end up grinding off to get it to fit?
