Yep, one more day until the reg price goes up, so sign up by midnight tomorrow!
We do things a little bit differently for the NSTC compared to a local event, so here is what you can expect:
We will run morning and afternoon heats. It looks like R will be in Heat 1 running first and all other classes will be in Heat 2 running second. Depending on the number of entrants, we have 3 runs and try for 4 runs per heat. The heats are repeated in the afternoon, with Heat 3 being R and Heat 4 being all other classes.
We would like to have everyone work only one Heat. This may be stretching things a bit at 66 entrants, but at 80 or 90 it should work fine. Working one heat will allow folks to run out for lunch without us stopping the event. This means more runs for everyone.
The timing of the event (reg, tech, drivers meeting), grid order and cone penalty rules will be the same as a local event. We have debated rules for riders, so (ducking) here goes. Riders must be registered for the event as a driver. Riders are allowed in the morning only heats only. Only the driver can be in the car in the afternoon.
We have not had any protests at an NSTC. I am hoping this will continue to be the case. None the less, if you have an issue please bring it to my attention at the event. All cars in all classes (other than Muscle) must adhere to SCCA classing rules.
Trophies and the other prizes will be presented immediately after we open our first beer under the tent.
Thanks again to Brad and the Texas crew for hosting this event. All of us involved in the NSTC are really looking forward to our first Texas event.
Agreed, this situation is fine.
Yes, she is eligible.
Just wanna double check, will there be loaner helmets?

Slates, you might want to tell the guy who coded the NTSC registration engine that its moronic to use apostrophes as delimiters because a few million people use them in their name :)

Now that I wimped out on my after event work assignment, and I may not come out on Sunday. 8 runs does not sound too bad if we only have to do 1 work assignment. I do not know how the people that have hours of work to do after the event, and plan on coming out Sunday feel.
See y'all there tomorrow morning!
I work/run done by class? IF so, I guess it is RWD/everybody else?
Wow, that was a long course to set up! Still, it will provide two days of fun. You can still sign up on site.
I'm out. Melissa's arm still isn't healed enough that she can take care of Colin on her own.
Will the ProSolo shirts be out there? If so, someone please give the two shirts I bought months ago (?) to Mcshane, so I can get them at some point.

I love Jerrett, but that course was an ass-whip. Physically tiring.
Sorry to all the ST people who were bothered by the class-switch snafu. In my defense, I had no idea that would violate a tenant of SCCA policy; when the opportunity was offered, I thought it was fine since I'd only have 3 runs to get a good time. I never had any problem with not making the switch, and I'm disappointed that nobody simply came and talked to me about it. I've always been big on fairness and gamesmanship, so a simple man-to-man conversation could have solved the issue, and I might not have had to give-up my afternoon runs to keep everybody happy.
I'm still new to the nuances of "big" events, this being my first season to participate in anything other than a single Divisional last year.
So much for NSTC being a "laid-back" affair.
I am looking forward to the next STR event...
