Thread: New Tires for Tire Trailer?

Default New Tires for Tire Trailer?

So the tires on my tire trailer are almost bald so it's time for new ones. Has anyone else burned through a set of tire trailer tires? Any tips on mounting?

    Ordered these from Northern:

Hopefully they should be in before the tour...

I replaced mine a couple years ago but I got lucky and Northern had them on sale already on a rim. Now I have 2 spares!

Aren't you supposed to disconnect the trailer before running through the cones????

Those little tires burn up quick. When I upsized to 12s on my old trailer I almost tripled the mileage I got.

I had planned to buy the 12", 4-bolt replacement wheel/tire combo when my 8" got worn. If you watch the sales, you can generally get them for $30/each.

I changed some of the 8" with screwdrivers for tire spoons

only hard part was getting new one to seat on rim

wrapped a tie down around the tread and tightened it to force the bead to seat
