Does the kid have money for stripes? I thought she was getting the red one.
Kid wants to change the look of the 2002 slightly to make it her own car rather than just a hand me down from mom.
She likes the way it looks now she just wants to ad her own touch to the car.
We were talking stripes - "black stripe, yellow paint"
I'd prefer to go vinyl since whatever is left of the car reverts back to me when she is done with it and I have evil plan for it!
Anyone on the west-side found a local source for TCB approved stripes? Or a decent online option for a kit?
Or if you have a idea that would be TCB and change the look post away!

She may run the Red one some but our deal has always been for the Yellow car if she maintained our terribly unrealistic goals for her in school.
She has exceeded and surpassed all the goal we set so It looks like I'm going to just have to buck up and hand her the keys to the Yellow car in September.
Good question on the money part she make you look like a mad spender!
Rogue did a great job re-applying my stripes when he repaired the car. Too bad my old leftover vinyl was not so sticky, anymore, but that was not his doing.
I originally applied mine myself. Knowing what I know now, I would have paid someone else to do it right, like Rogue.
Stripes aren't hard to apply. I helped lugnutjon stripe both of his mullet mobiles.
Give him a call or email him at http://www.afterthoughtsauto.com/. I think they either carry vinyl or know someone who can get it for you.

Gas and insurance are gong to be free as long as she maintains our terribly unrealistic goals.
If she was just a standard issue slacker teenager just doing the bare minimum to get out of high school all those costs would be hers. There is a benefit at the Casa de POS for academic excellence.
Insurance is going to suck no matter what we do it is the cures of a teenage driver living in your house.

She might like something like this instead of duct tape

Ok, not local, but pretty inexpensive. I was promised a $10 off coupon for pics of results... I haven't asked for it but if you're interested I can obtain & forward.
This is the place that made our MME stickers a few years back.

Wow..lucky girl! And props to her for doing so well in school.
Maybe she could swap out the wheels to something more of her taste (assuming she isn't a huge fan of those)? Limit her to the same size to save on tire costs.
