Default Wtb: 1.6 or 1.8 engine

I need to buy a 1.6 or 1.8 for my Miata. If you are selling a transmission I might look into that too.

You have to be wanting to learn to build it yourself...Unless you have parts that will bolt up to both motors laying around?

That said, you need one that is running?

I'll do either one I'm not on a time frame really either I will be building parts or buying a full engine doesn't matter to me. If I don't get anything within a month then I'm going to just buy a mazda speed turbo engine. Does anyone know if those will fit in a na Miata?

    You are terrible at research.

Assuming you mean the Mazdaspeed Miata motor, yes it will fit an NA. It is the "same" as the NA motors of those years. You will need more than just the motor. If you're going to actually build a motor, why bother paying the premium for the MSM block? You'd want to replace almost everything dealing with it anyway.

You know that a 1.6 and ANY version of the 1.8 motors are different sizes, right? That is why asking for "either a 1.6 or 1.8" is a pretty odd question. You can't just "drop in" a 1.8l block into a 1.6l car. You need other things as well (not much, but it's more than just a bare block). And power potential is rather different too. Pick one, find it, stick to it.

Yes I know these things I'm not a idiot. Depending on what I get first is what I'll swap in. Money is not a factor, and before someone says it, NO I don't want a v8 swap. Just looking to buy a 1.6 or 1.8 if you don't have one don't try and lecture me. Thank you

I have two spare 1.6 blocks, that is why I asked if you want one that runs or not. And I'm not trying to lecture you, just trying to figure out what you're trying to do. But I can't tell you why.

And you clearly don't "know these things" since you asked if the MSM motor will fit in an NA. That is about as far from "knowing these things" as you can get.
