I know for an absolute fact that carfaxes are not all correct

found a 94R on autotrader dot com in Atlanta advertised with clean carfax

had Azenis tires so knew it must have belonged to an autocrosser

called a friend in Atlanta who works for a Mazda dealer and he ran the vin

original purchaser in Chicago, so I called another friend in Chicago and asked if he knew the name

10 minuts later I'm talking to the original owner who lamented the fact that the car was totaled at Tail of the Dragon when a Harley slid into his front

totaled in NC equals clean car fax in GA

gave the info to carfax and they blew me off

I agree with nealb BTDT! Caveat emptor.

CARFAX even states the following on all reports (which basically nulify the reports)

I just need to verify the mileage on a miata a bought a while back. chassis and odometer have different mileage on them due to upgraded drivetrain.
