Default How much is it worth? 90 NA

I have a 90 NA that I might have to sell due to my financial situation. Here are the specs:

    - 1990 1.6L
    - 5 speed
    - Lexus pearl white paint job
    - Black interior

I bought this car last summer, had 96k miles at the time. The car now has 106XXX miles and it's been a blast to drive. The car is super strong and drives really well. I've had the following things done to it maintenance wise:

    - Royal Purple transmission fluid
    - Royal Purple diff fluid
    - Coolant flush, running Toyota Red coolant with Royal Purple "Purple Ice" coolant additive
    - Brake fluid flush with ATE super blue
    - Synthetic oil changes every 4k miles
    - New thermostat
    - NGK spark plug wires
    - NGK spark plugs (platinum)
    - New upper and lower shift boots
    - New interior leather shift boot
    - RugDoctor'd the carpet
    - New rubber covers over clutch and brake pedals
    - Valve cover gasket
    - CAS seal
    - Clutch master cylinder
    - Clutch slave cylinder
    - OE replacement brake rotors and pads
    - One year alignment package by Pro Tuning Performance (done 1 month ago)

It also has a few upgrades.

    - R package Bilstein struts
    - Flyin Miata springs
    - inJoy radio delete plate
    - 2 channel amplifier (headunit less) setup
    - 14" factory BBS wheels (RARE)

    Few bad things:
    - Soft top rear window has a crack in it, it is a zipper though so it can be replaced
    - CEL is always on. Shows a code 1 but doesn't affect how the car runs

Overall the car is in great shape and is very mechanically strong. It has been super reliable for me and gets me 28-30 MPG. Clean Texas title in hand.

I'd say 2500 cuz my car is about as clean as yours (same mods and wheels) but I paid 2k for mine with Hardtop and a little more miles than urs....Glws

Yeah I think I've got the same problem but I usually just blame it on age

I think $2500+ would be very fair if it had a CAT, no cell, and no stumble. As is, you are going to loose a lot of buyers that are not willing to take over your problems. If you want a quick sell, I suspect you would need to price it at $1995 to generate interest.

Do you have the factory seat? How hard would it be to hook up a head unit? What exhaust is on it?

Trey I'm currently on the hunt for a factory seat. The headunit would plug right in, I'll see if I can find a factory radio.

And I have a Raceland Header, test pipe and factory catback.

You still thinking about selling this? Wifey and i saw it today on 114 (I was driving the white Pathfinder alongside you for a minute or so looking at the car). She loves the color, so pretty much sold on it. Not really looking to pick up a car right now, but if the price is right...

Matt's not on here every day or two typically. Give the guy some time, eh?

As to how the interior looks, it's in fine shape. Just one of the seats isn't OE...and that's about the size of it. Oh, and the shift knob is kinda tall. :)

Actually, if you look at someone's profile, it tells you the last time they visited the forum, and Matt was on the forum twice before I made my comment.

Also, I found his listing on craigslist, which he created a couple days before my first comment in this thread, and his asking price does not remotely reflect the opinions presented in this thread.

But thank you for your comments/opinion!

I see you didn't mention the broken HVAC switch. Was this fixed?

When I saw the car, the stock driver's seat was back in. It also had the OE BBS wheels on it, not the NB ones in the pics. It still had the headunit deleted and some other OE-looking shift knob, but otherwise the interior looked stock and clean to me.

His craigslist ad is/was a higher price because he fixed the major issues that were present when he asked the question (which he edited out of the original post here). I gave him a spare PTU to see if it clears the CEL he has, but I haven't heard back from him about it. So for all anyone knows, that issue is fixed too.

    Issues from some research:
    1) soft top has rear window crack
    2) CEL shows code 1 (ignition)...but doesn't affect anything?
    3) CEL shows code 8...stumbling idle...bad AFM?
    4) no headunit
    5) no catalytic converter
    6) little tire tread remaining
    7) broken HVAC switch
    fender ding
    9) HVAC needs to be recharged
    10) not an issue, but provides information about seller: car bought ~8/6/2010 with 93xxx miles; now 4/23/2011 with 107xxx miles (14k miles in 8 months??)
    11) paint isn't perfect, as shown in pictures
    12) panel surrounding rear license plate is black now??
    13) possible problems due to spraying carb cleaner into/around throttle body opening

KBB says that even if in Good condition, a 91 Miata with 107,000 miles is only worth ~$1800.

But he really hasn't responded at all to me. Instead, other people are attesting to the car's condition. That's not how you sell a car.

To be honest, I wouldn't respond to you either.

    Thank you for your response!

What is wrong with wanting to address to issues of the car?

Is transparency not welcome anymore? Honesty? Integrity? Do you lose all that when you deal with cars worth $1-3k?

Or perhaps it's not the fact that the cars are worth $1-3k, but more likely, the owners that can only afford cars worth $1-3k.

    Thank you for your comment/opinion!
