If you Miata guys drove like this there would be more room on the road for me.

I met that guy the afternoon after the stunt. His local club had already chastised him and everyone was keeping it mum until someone posted the photo.

    You doubt I was there?

    I was.

It was at the All-Florida Miata Meet. I even initiated the photo thread for the event on ClubRoadster. There are pics of my car and me in that thread. And then I made a detour to Deal's Gap on the way home. I drove the Tail of the Dragon a few times on Tuesday before the final 900+ mile drive back home to Dallas.

No. I believed you were there when you told me Wednesday night at Kellers. Lotta cool pics in that thread but I didn't see any shots of Steve's new ride.

Yeah, no pics of Steve's car in the thread. It was parked right next to the registration tent and looked pretty unassuming as you walked by. Looked like a stock NA8 from the front. You couldn't see the red LE interior or the GV tailights. The only shots are in his build thread, and they don't show any detail.

You can blame Emilio for the lack of photos of the new ride. Not really excited to show it off as it's currently in 4x4 status on stock NB suspension. XIDAs are on their way - but won't ship until mid May

Meanwhile I'm refinishing the '95M seats in '93LE red, polishing up a used Integral Kobe exhaust I got, etc. I'm just not driving it....yet.

And, yeah....that semi trailer stunt was brainless. I hardly believed the photo was real at first.

When did you order your Xidas? I'm assuming clubsports? I ordered on April 1 and I was told at that time that they would ship 3rd or 4th week of April. Now I'm hearing mid May... I'm too impatient to have to wait this long! :)

Yup. Clubsports. I ordered mine in the end of March and they're on the mid-May list. When I ordered them Emilio told me that they're shipping end of April. (That's also what it said on the website at the time.)

I emailed him a day or two ago asking about a shipping date - expecting it to be any day now - and he said "Mid May". He told me that I missed the April shipment by 2 orders. Maybe you were the other one.

Like you - I am impatient and pretty disappointed in how this is going down. I know there's nothing Emilio can do about what his suppliers can provide him. However, communication and expectation-setting could be handled better.

It will be worth the wait, but it's also a bummer that they run your card at the time of order instead of when they are shipped... It's also not 949's fault, I think AST is just crazy busy.

What rates did you get? Did you order helpers? I went with 550/350 as I won't be on premium rubber for a while. I didn't order helpers initially but since so much time has passed I broke down and added the helpers to my order this week.

I got 550/350 as well. I will be on 225 wide RS3's - but 95% of the driving will be on the street. I think the balance of comfort and performance will be perfect for me. They'll still handle ages better than the Tein Basics I had on my NB - and that wasn't really a slouch, IMO.

    No helpers for me.
