Were you replacing an AFM that threw a code? If so, did you clear the code after installing the replacement AFM? Have you tried swapping a known good AFM from a friend's car to be sure the problem is the AFM? I once thought I had a bad AFM based on codes, but after swapping AFMs with a friend, I found that mine was fine. Mine turned out to be a problem in the AFM wiring harness, not the AFM.

I had a good AFM that I loaned out for diagnostics to a guy on the forum that bought a NA6 last fall. Can't remember his name. He bought my old OZ wheels from me too, so a search for Superlegerra might turn him up.

@modernbeat. that was me. turns out. never should have gone to buy yet another afm. the two i had in my garage were both good. my starting issues were with the igniter. if you're going to be out at the miata meet this week i can bring your afm back to you. i had completely forgot to return it. not been messing with the miata much since the starter went out in it. which prompted me to pull the engine and trans to remove on starter bolt with a stripped head. and while i had the motor out i decided to do a bunch of other things that needed doing. only to finally get it all back together and end up not being able to get the damn thing to start.

anyway the oz wheels look kick ass sitting at the end of my garage all polished and shiny.

where they've been sitting since this whole debacle started...

Sounds like that project has been getting out of control. I'll be at this Wednesday's meet - which might be at a different location than normal.
