I lived well over 50 years without posting to a website, and can probably make it several more if I never posted again.
You guys fail to realize that every time a short answer or a smart remark is made it can turn 4-5 new members away from the site as well as make others not post
A question was ask late last night and someone threw out a post that was rude and in no way helped .
I saw the question and the reply this morning and answered hoping it would do two things lighten the reply as joking and give the new member some support if he had read the reply to him
A bit latter the reply was gone.
Samm commented ( which too is now gone ) and if he thought I was out of line I think he would have said so or deleted my post
I am no way an expert and even mentioned that the person asking the question needed to see what others had to say
I am pretty thick skinned, but more than once or twice have remarks been made about what I have said or have
It appears I am not one of the gang and you guys perfer the small close knit group you have and are not interested in the thought of others coming in.
I have been a guest here for a long time and then became a member which I had hoped would make things different
I did not come here to rock anyones boat or to create problems ,or try to force myself on anyone or any group
I do appreciate any and all help that has been given and have learned quite a bit here
as a lot of info is here for the taking
Having said that and giving this a lot of thought I have found it better if I no longer post on here .
You can stick a fork in me I am done

If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen! Plenty of good people and info here and LOTS of joking around (sarcasm). Heck I don't even own a Miata anymore and still like the company. (I can't believe I just said that) :)

Easy there, Doc. I think you've read a bit too much into the comments. Still, you DID throw-up some uninformed comments that caught the attention of more knowledgable members, and humor is generally the best form of "gentle correction" used here at dfwmiata.com
Read the board a little longer before you decide you've figured it out, and I think you'll start to notice the more subtle attempts at humor.
Also, I don't think the forum is on a membership drive: the right people find their way to the board.
Finally, if this got to you, I'd advise you to stay FAR away from miata.net - they will eat you alive, and humor is NOT their style.
I hope you don't leave over something so trivial, but my 40+ years tell me you might.

I saw it! I saw it! I thought it was a dumb response too but then I considered the source. I thought about replying but had to leave for work.
doc- Hope you decide to stay. Great bunch of people here if you can let the BS slide. I can tell you're a newb (newbie, green, inexperienced) in this interweb thing-a-ma-jig as we are pretty tame and friendly compared to most internet forums.
We have a few "special needs" forum members but that is just to keep the EEOC off our ass.![]()
