Interesting results.... Looking at the Rapid Pax...

1st and 2nd were 4wd street tire Subarus.

The General was the fastest rear driver.

    The first non-Miata rear-drive car was SpinOutF500 in 11th.

The first non-Miata rear-drive car with fenders was a Corvette in 13th.

    Yikes!

    Wait a minute...

The RapidePAX results were calculated using LAST YEAR'S PAX index!!!

The PAX is all wrong. If you recalculate the top six finishers based on THIS YEAR'S numbers, it changes:

    1st - Andrew Hahn (69.39)
    2nd - Kenny Baker (69.412)
    3rd - Todd Milstead (69.912)
    4th - Iain Peebles (70.040)
    5th - Jon Wagner (70.170)
    6th - Wayne Atkins (70.439)

The names in bold all move up a position based on the current index. Todd drops a spot, and Wayne drops two spots. The numbers in parenthesis are the correct indexed times, based on the '05 PAX. I didn't calculate it by hand any further than 6th, but I would imagine some people were in the payouts further down that shouldn't have been, and some people who should have been paid weren't.

Good catch altiain. I'm guessing I'll move up a spot or two as well. Looks like SpinOutF500 or General Default are already on the case, as the results page has been taken down.

ER definitely means to use the new PAX index... it was just a little "oops"!

It seems the SCCA National Tour event in El Paso might be having the same issues. The conspiracy is called "Microsoft Windows XP".

Day two they went back to the old system.

    Thanks for the tip/news!

I'm not a huge fan of XP, but your information leads me to think the issues stem from software incompatibility with XP. AXWare seems to run fine on older versions of Windows -- it ran fine on our PCs until we upgraded to XP -- but it apparently has problems with MicroBeast's latest and greatest operating system. I'm going to STRONGLY recommend that ER load one laptop with Windows 98 or 2000 or Millennium or whatever, and the other with XP. Click here to vote and discuss (I don’t want to cause thread drift on this AX related thread…).

Oh, and a request for Sir Bill Gates (he’s being given an honorary Knighthood by her Majesty) for his next release of the operating system that binds us all: Stop making it glitzier. Make it faster (to load and shut down) and make it bulletproof. We can do without more freaking bells and whistles, but we want the stuff to actually work. All the time. Every time

I'm SO bummed! I just called Discount in Flower Mound about the Victoracers I ordered OVER TWO WEEKS AGO and the rears won't be in for about another 3 weeks. There goes another autocross right into the Porta-Potty.

Apparently that course favored momentum cars with V710s (Miatas), or powerful AWD rally cars with pseudo-R-compound street tires (Subarus). 11 of the top 15 spots were either Subaru or Miata.

Darn! I guess I gotta give back my 5 buck overpayment. Dropping from 7th to 12th is tells me indeed STS has to pedal much harder. My co driver dropped from 4th to 7th, so he has to give back even more money... PAX sux this year... :P

    Default PAX Payout

ER may have messed up, but we are not going to be taking any money away from those who already got it. Even though some of you deserve it.

We'll just raise the entry fee.

At the next event we will pay the difference to those who moved up in the PAX and to those who joined the top 15.
