Come On Downnnnn
Welcome back and welcome to the madness
I recognize some of the names on here (Hey Merv!) but there looks to be many new faces in the D/FW performance Miata crowd these days!
I left 3 years ago to be with my (now) wife. We currently live in Seattle, WA. but will be finishing up our time here in June. My wife has taken a job in D/FW so we'll be moving back sometime in July. Looks like we will be living near the Frisco area, although it could end up being anywhere between there & Bedford.
I first got a used Miata ('89) in '93 & later traded it in for a new '96 R-package (thanks Merv). I still drive the '96 even though it is really worn out these days. It has had a hard life of track events, autocrosses & more performance drives with the group than I can imagine. Our other car is a '95 M3 (the wife's) & I hope to follow Merv's lead (again) and get a new MS6 once we get settled in back in Texas.
My plans are to get into plenty of performance/track events as possible once returning home. Hopefully that will include many events at MSR!
Ahh, that is enough for now...

Welcome to the forum Checker! We need more smart-arses on the board!
Jefe! How ya doin'?
Glad to hear your moving back to the metromess - it seems that a lot of the cool Outlaws are moving away.
You ever keep in touch with any of the really old crowd anymore?

As in really old crowd do you mean Bert & Willy, etc.? Yeah, I talk to them every now & then & I'm sure we'll see each other quite a bit once we move back.Originally Posted by altiain

Actually Merv, I've known Jefe since before he was old enough to drive. The crowd of guys we hung around with back then was the crowd I was referring to.Originally Posted by MadMerv

He's right Merv, we grew up together in school ... back in the day!
Don't worry though, we're still the old skool Miata crew as far as D/FW performance driving is concerned!

I owe it to Jefe' for getting involved. If he wasn't sporting LSMC magnets at the AutoX for the 10th Anniversary bash at TMS, I wouldn't have looked into Lone Star again. I didn't think there were any Miata enthusiasts in DFW near my age.
It was Merv though that started the Outlaw thing on the LSMC Arkansas run in 1999. Good times!
