    Default Reading Spark Plugs?

    I took some picture of the last set of plugs to come out of my 1994 Miata they had just under 20,000 miles on them.

    I'm not skilled enough to read a plug so I thought I'd post my pictures here and see what the experts think. Sorry for the marginal picture quality my camera was being moody!

    Looks like you could try a slightly hotter plug. Are those the correct temperature range plugs? Have you sea foamed the engine with these? Deposits on plugs usually are signs of pre-ignition.

    #2 looks a little bit oily, but not terrible. They all look somewhat hot, but isn't that from advancing the timing?

    It was detonating at the last AX So I pulled those plugs and put in a set of {#BKR5EGP} GP-Series Platinum plugs and put a new set of NGK wires on it..

    At the last BMW AX it had no sounds of detonation.

    It does use a bit of oil but I think some of it is seeping past the valve cover.

    Looks a little lean and hot from here. Plug range is probably good, but I'd question the advance and hole in fuel map.

    Why didn't you hand these to me this morning?

    Wouldn't be the first time. Could also be dirty injector issue. Either way it doesn't look that bad...

    I've been thinking about getting the injectors serviced. I've also seen a few set of "rebuilt" injectors on Fleabay.
