    If I get the add-on ethernet for the PS2, do I have to subscribe to something to be able to play across the internet?
    Anything special have to be done to support a broad-band connection thru a router?

    No subscription required... You just have to run the Xlink software on a PC. Being connected through a router helps, actually, but you may need forward a UDP port to your PC. I'll test more thoroughly soon - with any luck, actually connecting to someone - and then I'll know more. Hopefully Dave04 will confirm that the Netgear FA120 USB Ethernet adapter works...

    TC and I established our GT4 Xlink connection tonight! Works great if you don't mind really laggggggggggggggy video. Back to the drawing board we go.

    The first time we tried it, I was connected in Utah somewhere. The second time I was in Australia. Both connections sucked to say the least!

    The "server in Australia" isn't really relevant. Those servers are only helpers. The games are played peer to peer.
