Sounds good! Looking forward to seeing it at Hallett.
Leading up to Hallett, I'm knocking out some upgrades that have been in the pipeline for a while. Thanks to johnwag, I got a deal on a box of old parts - mainly just a used header and intake. And thanks to mr brg, I now haz MegaSquirt up and running... and tuned!
On the Mustang dyno we used for tuning, the car made 126 hp and 116 lb-ft at the wheels. I'll verify it later, but on a Dynojet (my previous runs), that should equate to about 140 hp and 130 lb-ft at the wheels. For fun, refer down to the earlier runs in my sig. Needless to say, it's a whole different animal now - the butt dyno says so. I'm ready to tear some ass at Hallett this year...

Those increases are just from the addition of the MegaSquirt?
He also put a '99 head on a while back, so that would make it intake, head, header, exhaust, and ECU.
I need your email. I just cleaned up a few things and took 2-degrees out where I heard some funky rattling. Pull your plugs and check them for "peppering" just to be sure.
I also took a stock 1.6 with an exhaust and made 109.5 and 103wtq with nothing but a ghetto intake and exhaust, or roughly 122whp on a Dynojet. I had fun today. :)
Neither car feels like my turbo car of course, but the tune makes them sooooo much more fun to drive. When you rhomp on the pedal it feels like it's tuned, like you're driving a racecar; no more dead spots, the engine sings, and they'll both get 30+mpg.

TXMC: Drinkin, shootin, racin!
He made 108whp with the 99-head on a dynojet, today he made 126whp on a Mustang. I know the Mustang and the Dynojet dynos in question and they are 12% apart compared to my car and the general rule of them is 15%. If he went to a Dynojet and made 135whp, I'd fall out of my chair. I should note that it made 100+wtq at about 3000RPM all the way up.
It was also super-duper humid today and although correction factors are supposed to take care of that, it will do better on a dry day after the correction values. From 2nd-3rd gear compared to my stock 1.8 with a header he put 2-car lengths on me.
If we end up with a euro intake plenum we could see 150whp on a Dynojet and that's MSM territory.

His car is approaching NC numbers and is probably higher power-to-weight now.
After looks at Rick's AFRs, I should have gone a little leaner. I HATE tuning a sniffer post-cat converter because you never get that "I have a good AFR signal" confirmation. Maybe we could get another 3whp out of it?

Here is the 1.6
We had some noise problems with the dyno, not the car. His AFR's is miserable because he didn't wire the AFR correctly and it's 2011 so I don't spend dyno time tuning AFR from a meter not connected to my computer.

interesting stuff ... i have an +01 header that i need to install. baseline dynojet dyno i put down 112whp (STD corrected ... i'd expect SAE to be lower) everything stock. i'll get to it eventually hahahah

I think it's something in the exhaust too. I had the spark table 3* advanced from where it is no, with lots of heat-soak and load on the dyno and never heard detonation. If your plugs have any pepper on them, then that's a red-flag...I bet they are clean.
At one point in the 15-second pull when I hung the tach at 6800rpm I looked at everyone's face and they looked like they'd seen a murder. lol When I do that on a turbo car everything on the hot-side is glowing yellow and I'm afraid too.

Interesting thread... I could do with another 20+ whp...
SOLD - '91 BRG
SOLD -'99 Signal GreenLooking for my next car...
Nothing but cheater mods!!! :)
1990 White NA - SOLD
1994 Black NA - SOLD
2006 Red NC - GT with limited slip, HIDs, all OEM.
Guess my next mod is megasquirt...
Guess I need to switch over to Megasquirt, too, and have mr brg tune it. It's getting difficult to find replacement vacuum tubes for my SDS!
You guys do know what vacuum tubes are, don't you?!
What's left of a '96 Miata with stock clutch.
My car exceeds my driving ability. That's the only possible explanation.
SDS = Univac standalone?
Found an old daguerreotype entitled: "At The Dyno"
