    Default CG-Lock

My CG-Lock recently died. I know another Miataphile who's ready to by one as well, so I thought I'd post and see if there are enough of us to go in on a group buy. Reply or PM if interested.

How did it die? Mine fell apart and I emailed the owner, he mailed me a new one and I mailed my old one back.

+1. It has been awhile, I may have had to pay shipping. Great service from the CG-Lock people.
On the track, I am fearless.
If you were as slow as me, you wouldn't be afraid either.

I got one, it exploded the first time I used it, I sent it back and got a replacement, for free also. Then the replacement died within 2 events also, so I gave up. Have any of you gotten much use out of yours?

I should mention that they were Rallycross events both times, so there was a lot of jostling/bumps/jolts, but I was still hoping it would at least temporarily satisfy my harness craving, haha.

    End threadjack, sorry.

First one lasted probably 2 years, replacement has lasted another 2-3 easily. No issues. This was all autocross/HPDE usage.

I've had mine since 2006. I do about 40 events per year, so it has a couple hundred events under its belt (pun intended). No major problems, but it is finally starting to slip on occasion. I guess that is acceptable after so much use.

Try clamping down the sides of the "slider" piece? Or is it the spring that has worn out?

It's the piece that you slide on and off to disable it for daily driving.

Go to your local Babys-R-Us and buy one of these... ($2-$3 IIRC)

The "engagement thingy" snapped off. The pin is damaged, so snapping it back on doesn't disengage the spring. Now only functional as a paperweight.

This was it's 4th year of use, at 12 to 15 AutoX events per year. That seemed like a fair bang for the buck, but I'll contact them to see if they'll replace. Thanks for the suggestion!
