A small number of the very early 1990 Miatas were delivered in 1989 with smooth cased open diffs. All diffs since then have had fins.
When did they start putting the cooling "heat sink" looking fins on the back of the miata diffs?

Good stuff here - http://www.miata.net/garage/diffguide/index.html
That's the article that kinda confused me. It made it seem (to me anyway) that 1.6 Miatas had smooth housings. No biggie. I stumbled across another article on the same site that mentioned what Titus said. Only a small number of them had the smooth housings.
Thanks guys.
