Default Cars and Coffee Labor Day Weekend

Possibly going to be in DFW this weekend and wondering if they are still going to have Cars and Coffee on Labor Day weekend? Anyone planning on going? Was in California and went to the Irvine C&C a couple weeks ago and excited about getting to go to another if they're having it?

Do Miata's tend to get run out of the "show" lot? That thread is funny, I really had a thought about this at the Irvine C&C. I came late and did not even attempt to park in the "show" lot and just walked over thinking the little Miata would be a bit out of place. There were many cars quite a bit more interesting, but at the same time, there were many others that were pretty uninteresting. I think there were something like 20 shelby replicas there, kind of odd I thought.

I would like to go. I've never been to a C&C meet, but hear they are usually really good. And after reading a small part of that post, I definitely don't think my miata would "fit" into their show area

That post is BS. Any car is welcome, and the show is a lot more fun if all the cars are jumbled up. It's the anal retentive jerks that want to organize and grade all the cars as they come in. The masses of late model Chevy/Dodge/Ford muscle cars would be a lot more bearable to look at if they were mixed in with all the other cars instead of in a row by themselves.

Totally disagree. The last two C&C events were overrun by what I would consider "ordinary" cars taking up valuable real estate. I'm not getting up to look at 20+ late-model pony cars that I see at the local Tom Thumb or in my parking garage at work. And sorry, but clapped-out Civics do not qualify for C&C, either. Go to the local Wednesday night meet for that...

I haven't been in awhile, but when I did go, it has always been relaxed and the "show" side was 30 feet away from the parking side.

Sometimes there is some crap, but I generally think the "club" cars are fine when parked together, even if its a riced out civic. People like comparing different builds of the same cars. That said, if your car really is a crapcan, don't park next to the Lambo's. At the same time, how many friggin' Mustangs can you actually look at and still be interested?

It better have a blower on it or skinnys up front :)

I run out of mullet jokes quick in the fbody section and end up trying to remember Joe Dirt lines.

Now that OZMDD is sportin' the sexy stache he'll have to find a nice 308 to cozy up to

Stache will be gone by Saturday. Onle kept it this long for solidarity with the real Bandit in Lincoln.

A few months ago at C&C there was a brand new (untitled) Aston Martin Rapide a few feet from a mint condition Yugo. The Yugo even had magazine articles and the original window sticker. I thought about it and realized that, if I had enough money, I could buy the Rapide and it would be one of many. The Yugo was irreplaceable. That's the beauty of C&C -- the crazy mix of cars. Also, the "parking" area vs. "show" area is kind of a moot point. There are so many "show" cars that both sides of the aisle are filled up with cars that could go either direction.

I wouldn't lump a mint Yugo in with the riff-raff. To use my example above, it's not a car I would expect to see in a grocery parking lot. It's a "special" car. And look, if the lot at Classic BMW had enough room for EVERYONE that wants to show up and show off, it would be a different story. But parking IS quite limited. I get miffed when "show-worthy" cars make a couple of circuits and leave because Joe Mullet thinks his '88 "Stang with over-size Cooper tires and a blinking skull shift knob is a special deal...
