Default 15 minutes of lurking under my belt!

Figured I'd just jump right in... Wrapping up an almost two year restoration on my first Miata, a '91 LNC and am trailering it to TDR on the 28th of September so thought I'd make an intro and see if there was a group that wants to get together and do dinner, drinks, car-show or some other date like activity. Easier to link than start over so here is my build thread on CR.net - http://clubroadster.net/vb_forum/sho...ighlight=scrat.

We have a pretty good group of people in southern Texas and we started a 'Film Fest' for the summer whereby everyone comes over, eats, drinks, and we project a movie on our garage door. This year we did the Fast-n-Furious movies in order, one per month, and the last 'Film Fest' for 2011 is Oct 1st if anyone is interested in heading down/over/up. Link for the July one which was the biggest gathering to date - http://clubroadster.net/vb_forum/showthread.php?t=47499 and for the upcoming event - http://clubroadster.net/vb_forum/showthread.php?t=50251

Goal is to have running by Halloween and out of the body shop and repainted back to Classic Red by Christmas.

Looking forward to meeting you guys in my upcoming travels.

And now to test my picture posting abilities...

Welcome. Nice lookin' car you got there If you get it back from TDR with a different exhaust on it, don't ask where it went.

That's not the Simpson Design rear bumper, is it? Last I remember seeing an SD in person, it was completely flush with the rear, the one you have looks like it sticks out a tiny bit. Just not mounted 100% in that picture?

And I wish I could have made it to the film fest I thought I'd be able to...just wasn't in the cards after all

I'll be sure to ask TDR about security surveillance while Scrat is there. Yeah, it's the Simpson but needs to be cut out around the exhaust and permanently mounted. In the picture it is just mocked up and the passengers side looks a bit wonky. No worries, Rob, we're planning on some other get-togethers for the winter months and then start up Film Fest in May of 2012.

Having TDR finish it up for me... I've reached my skill set limit as well as my comfort zone limit as this is my first Miata rebuild and my first IRTB set-up. Need to have the DIYPNP installed, double-check all my work (timing, TDC, wiring, etc) as well as install my new brakes and do a suspension tune. Had looked at other shops but since I don't live in the metroplex anymore, I picked a shop that could get it running, tuned, and the suspension set all in one shot. It's been a long two years and I'm getting a bit anxious to get it back on the road. I've been talking with Gary for a while and he has everything needed to wrap up the last few bits so I can get it to the body/paint shop.

Gary's a good dude, and has helped me a lot with "blue printing" my build for the inevitable supercharger.

Welcome to the forum! Your car is looking great.

I can vouch for Stoly, the coolest Miata guy I've met in San Antonio with probably the nicest Miata (even if it's not running right now!).
