I hate to say it but when we were looking at the CTSV last year we would have gotten the auto... With so much power on tap, it was simply more effectively put down with the auto. Especially around town.

That's actually impressive to me lol. I read somewhere that less than 18 precent of all US car sales have manual transmissions in them anymore. Some places say even lower than that.

Yeah, it was definitley cool when I went to pick up my rental car in Ireland and they were all manual. It was an extra charge to get an auto, and you had to reserve it ahead of time since they had so few.
On the other hand, I understand why so many people in the US select slushboxes when I've been sitting in stop-n-go traffic on Central Expressway in my Miata for 30 minutes. Poor clutch...
