Spun once on track on street tires coming out of turn one in the first session and once on R-comps in turn two later in the day. Two spins in one day get's you a time-out.
I'm pushing myself and guess what, sometimes I exceeded my tires traction abilities. I started out last year with a consistent 1:44. I am now able to do 1:38. Next years goal is a 1:37. Trying to achieve it, I may spin once or twice. If you don't spin once in a while, you aren't pushing yourself.
Now if you spin consistently you have to look at what you're doing wrong.
The only thing epic to me was rootdown_53 throwing rooster tails and making a 1:40 doing it.
I want my ball back whoever has it. That was my only souvenir of the weekend.
I had a timeout on Friday afternoon, also. I spun coming out to 9, too muchpowerthrottle. Track master, said, "You know what you did, so go on back out and don't do it again." On the out lap, I locked the brakes going into 10 and went straight off. She then sent me to timeout.
On the track, I am fearless.
If you were as slow as me, you wouldn't be afraid either.

I don't consider two spins over a weekend consistent. It's about car control AND pushing your limits, at least for me. I could do mid one-forties and no spins but then I'm not learning anything. If you constantly try to push yourself to go faster, keep the line or maybe even try new variations of the line you will invariably make mistakes and sometimes those mistakes mean over-correcting, slowing down, going off line or even spins. Mistakes are good in my book. If you don't make mistakes, you don't learn anything. Lord knows I've made plenty of mistakes in my life but I take something away from every mistake I've made. No regrets because I wouldn't be who and where I am today without them.Let me qualify that last statement with the mistakes I've made that only affected me. I have made mistakes that affected other people that I would love to get a do-over on. OK... serious mode off.
Any more funny stuff from this weekend? Loved Jeffman's bumper sticker. [Hybrid - You Save, I Use]
