I think SCCA is your only option these days.
When my kid was 15 the only AX that she could attend were SCCA events.
So if my almost 7 year old had a kid kart, how many clubs/events would allow him to run? I know SCCA has some sort of club. I haven't researched, but dad brought buying him a kart, so I figured I'd just ask. Thanks guys.

For autocross, SCCA and ER allow carts. The other clubs do not.
I can't help with information about other forms of racing for carts.
EDIT: POS Racing may be correct about ER not allowing carts. Maybe nomadtrach will let us know for sure.
On the track, I am fearless.
If you were as slow as me, you wouldn't be afraid either.

Rumor has it ER's insurance has changed so kids carts wouldn't get to play for 2012.
Now I could be wrong.

There's also North Texas Karters (http://www.ntkarters.com/) and Dallas Karting Complex (http://dallaskartingcomplex.com/) for more track oriented karting.
