Thread: Miata Exhaust parts

    Default Miata Exhaust parts

    - First up is the bosal header for the 1.6L cars..I had it repaired once and cracked it on a very bumpy track (along with the cat lol). It's a good 4-2-1 design....fits great and lines up great with OEM stuff. It currently has one crack I can have welded up...probably cost about $20-30

    pic here - http://a5.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._2878583_n.jpg

Asking $40 for it as is

    - Next up is a Jackson Racing high flow cat for the 1.6L cars. Not sure why it won't fit the 1.8 car but hey...ok. :)
It sheered clean at the flange and was welded back together. Still works great. :)

They are almost $200 new so I'll ask $80 for it

    - Last is my magnaflow AND roadsersport 3 cat back. Paid something like $400 for this about 2 years ago. Has some scrapes on the resonator and some wend slag on top of it so if it scrapes it won't scrape the resonator :) Has a clamp on flex pipe I put in it to take some vibration out. Makes fitment a breeze. Also has a band clamp near the back to allow use of either the magnaflow or roadstersport muffler.

Asking $200 for all the cat-back exhaust parts. I'll sell pieces of it if need be...Goodwin sells the magnaflow for over 400 and the mufflers for 300. :) So it's not a bad deal.

This is the same setup I had on the car that most of you have seen. It's fairly reliable and has a good powerband...nothing peaky or dead up top.

Wife coming to DFW this weekend so free delivery to irving if I get a heads up....I'll sell all the crap above as a package if need be.

AND I have a midpipe back exhaust off an 01 miata...so if anyone needs one make me an offer...Same deal...free delivery.

Do you have pictures of the cat and catback? How many miles? Package price for the whole thing? :)
As long as the cat and catback will just bolt on (i.e. no repairs needed) and have a reasonable number of miles, I'll most likely take them. I'd like the header (the price is certainly right), but I dont' have any welding experience, so I'd have to think about it.

PM me a price for the converter + catback, and for the whole thing, and we'll work something out

heck I'll post a package price here. I forgot to mention the exhaust has a flex pipe added into it and a band clamp near the back to allow use of the original magnaflow exhaust or the Roadster sport 3 rear muffler that's also included. The magnaflow is more mellow but quieter than the roadstersport...but the roadstersport is lighter and a touch louder with the silencer out. Add the silencer back in for stock like sound levels :)

So for the exhaust and cat call it $240. For the exhaust, cat and header call it $260. I wanna get this stuff gone. Since I'm going turbo this is all not needed anymore :)

If you can let me know by tonight...the wife leaves for Irving tomorrow and it can all be picked up there :)

I'll take it all as long as it fits in a Kia Forte Koup (biggest vehicle I have access to). More details as soon as I get out of class, just wanted to claim it.

That's good to hear :) Seats definitely flip down and I've been incredibly impressed so far on what this car can carry.. I've called it the 'delivery truck' since we used it to move from NY, couldn't believe how much we were able to bring considering how much it looks like the car will fit.

Anyway, Kia talk aside, I just got back from the ATM and emptying out the car, so I should be ready to go for tomorrow. When and where would be a good time to meet? I'll be coming from UTDallas in Richardson, and I have to be back on campus at 4PM for a class, but before that I'm free.

Will a run-of-the-mill muffler shop be able to weld the header, or will I have to take it to someone special?

    Thanks!

i'd think any muffler shop who can weld could do it. Just regular old stainless :)

Worst case what time are you out of class?

give me a call and we'll hash out the details...I believe she will be getting to Irving at around 6pm is why I ask. :)

6:45 is the scheduled end time, but the professor is a little long-winded so it's lasted up to 7PM before. We're just about to sit down for dinner, I will give you a call shortly.

Just got home with all the 1.6 parts, they look great! Can't wait to get them put on, thanks! :)

I know you said the roadstersport is a bit louder, but which has a deeper, more aggressive tone? Trying to decide which to put on and it's hard to compare on youtube.

the magnaflow is deeper...the roadstersport is a bit raspier...I'd try them both and see which you like...the RS has that baffle in it that you can remove to make it louder...with it in now it's pretty quiet.
