Thread: Warsh?!?

    Default Warsh?!?

What was he thinking, pinch hitting Gentry and German? Yeah, I get the lefty versus righty thing but I'd rather take my chances with Murphy against a lefty than trying to pinch hit with Gentry and for God's sake why German over Torrealba? Ultimately though, Young and Hamilton have to start hitting the ball.

Yeah that was a WTF move, but CJ needs to quit walking guys and giving up runs. Granted, that was probably his best outing of the playoffs, but it wasn't ace-quality pitching.

And, yes, Murph should've stayed in the lineup. However, if Gentry or German had swatted a long ball, we would all be saying what a genius Wash was last night...

I guess that's the way baseball go.

Didn't you know this was a little league game and everyone had to play?

I'm just happy that ouhara isn't on the roster. That guy was good for a walk and a jack every time he took the mound.

Late innings with LaRussa changing pitchers is like watching an NBA basketball game where at the end they stretch 26 seconds out to an hour with all the time-outs.

How slick were those two plays Elvis made in the field? Wow!

What an AWESOME finish! I was bummed going into the 9th, and resigned to coming home down 2-0... but I'm glad I stuck with it. I predict that Josh's groin will fall off before the end of the series...

Wasnt Josh dinged up last year during the WS also? Yep, I was pretty much the same way going into the 9th. I just assumed the worst and resigned to the fact they would come home down 2-0. Just walking dead like last years WS up to the 9th and then they managed to scratch a couple of runs out. Maybe this will loosen them up. They've just seemed to be real tight and pressing.

I agree but I was so keyed up I could hardly fall asleep.

for all those people who refuse to watch simply because the Yankees or Red Sox arent in it, they're missing some pretty exciting baseball.

I'm dying to know what Wash told the Dutch Oven to get him so effing focused tonight. HOLY SHIT that was a great performance!

That was a really nice way to wash that 16-7 taste outta my mouth...

For tomorrow night's game, I want Tom Grieve instead of Tim McCadaver in the booth... and I want Knoxie roaming the stands looking for drunk-ass wheels-off fans.

Sure, it ain't gonna happen, but a boy can dream...

LOL! Even I will take Tom G describing the chocolate chip cookies that Minie Sue Baker from Dish Texas sent up to the booth over McCarver. McCarver is horrendous. Definitely Knox over the bow tie dude. I keep expecting him to rattle off the weather forecast ala Troy Dungan.

Actually, if I had my wish it would be Mark Holtz (rip) and Eric Nadel. "Hello win column!"

Holland was fantastic. He's had some good, dominating games this year. But considering the stage, last night was the best yet. Now, time for CJ to go out and earn the $$ some team is going to throw at him during free agency.

Wow, what a game. Cards just kept letting the Rangers hang around and hang around and then they paid the price for it. What was LaRussa doing with the pitching changes etc? He is getting ripped in the media this morning.

Here's Dirk's pep tweet for the Rangers... gotta love it!

I just rewatched this... a different Game 6... but similar.

I dont know, maybe it's just me but I think the "Strike 'em out, throw 'em out" double play is one of the most exciting plays in baseball.

If they do wind up winning this thing, Napoli has to be the MVP but that game that Holland pitched, just wow.

Nice! If you haven't seen Moneyball yet, the portrayal of Wash is great... He has confirmed that he actually said several of the funny lines in the movie.
