I'm so "in" on this.
Well, weather sucks. This event will be rescheduled in the Spring.
Quick update. I am still working out the details and the date might move to Dec 3. I am waiting on a couple of items.
- TMS to confirm the date
- BMW to lend me cars
- Setting up the format
Here is the idea:
BMW lends me three 128i coupes. You register for the event like a normal event. Points have ended so it is a non-points event for all. We take 1st and 2nd place in each class from this year along with champions from previous years. We create a bracket with double elimination. You race, win, and move on until we have a champion.
If you are not in the ROC you can run it like a normal event. It will be open to all drivers.
Sounds good?

Heck yeah, will BMW really loan us cars to beat on?
VW Bug in running shoes
M Porcupine sedan
M Porcupine coupe
Crusty old e46 beater
Battery Powered appliance car
I am trying. They might come with a sales guy.
M3 is always the answer.
Get him a helmet and make him ride every run.
On the track, I am fearless.
If you were as slow as me, you wouldn't be afraid either.

If you could move it to the weekend of Dec. 17th I would love to be able to attend.
Can you get one of these for the ROC?

It is on the 4th. No update on cars.
M3 is always the answer.
Any updates? I told my wife that I was done autocrossing for the year, but I can probably work around that... :)
The plan as of now is at the end of normal event we will draw names of the 2011 only 1st and 2nd place class winners present, for all classes. We will have a predefined bracket with double elimination. If we can get cars from classic BMW we will run them. If not, each driver will run their car against each other. If we drive our own cars we will allow haggling for time handicaps like on the show Pinks. This should be fun and we will have times from the regular event to use as a base. The drivers will be 100% responsible for haggling times. We can manually update handicaps in AXWare. ROC drivers will need to help work the course as they are eliminated.
M3 is always the answer.
Don't want to throw a wrench in you plans, but have you thought about the "Top Gear" model, rent an Aveo or other reasonably priced car. Low power w/ crappy tires could highlight the most skillful driver.
