RIP to a guy with amazing vision. Whether your a fan of Apple products or not, you have to admit he turned that company around from an odd joke of a computer company with eccentric fan boys to a global sensation. The iPod, iPhone, iPad literally changed the world and are leading their prospective markets.
All you Android fans would have nothing if not for the iPhone. Prior to the iPhone, "Smart Phones" were complicated devices marketed primarily to business geeks. Browsing the web on those Windows CE, RIM and Palm devices was anything but easy or enjoyable. Apple changed all that and created a market for the "mini computer" in your pocket. The iPod brought about the rapid evolution to digital media and the iPad is set to transform personal computing as we know it. I didn't even mention iTunes (largest music retailer), App store (reinvented how we buy software) and the iPod Touch (most popular handheld gaming device).
Maybe I'm appreciative of Apple because it is a lot like the Miata. Not accepted by many yet once someone tries it, they're hooked because like Apple products, the Miata just works. It's fun and uncomplicated. I digress...
There was always concern if Steve left the company, would it still have this vision and creativity to carry with their success. I think Steve surrounded himself with creative and intelligent people and the future looks bright for Apple. Y'all can hate Apple all you want but they must be doing something right. I just wish I had stock in that fruit company like Forrest Gump.![]()
Everything you say is true. Computers... phones... MP3 players... he completely turned around what the whole world saw pocket computers as. The Iphone is a toy, to be enjoyed by it's users.
iPod is MP3 player. There isn't anything in my mind other than iPod. When I think of an MP3 player... I think iPod. It went (at least in my generation) tape ---> CD ---> Ipod.
The man was brilliant.
But wait... I thought an Apple a day kept the doctor away? Ooh... hurts to miss that one...![]()

RIP! His death make me start thinking and thanking for what I have. He was 2 days younger than me! I do have a lot of things/problems that keep awake at night. I am sure Steve would 'die' to trade places with me and have my problems. I always wonder if all these rich, famous and successful people had made deal with the devil, just like in the movies, in return for the good fortunes!

Here is a quote regarding that gabkwong.“Being the richest man in the cemetery doesn’t matter to me … Going to bed at night saying we’ve done something wonderful… that’s what matters to me.” - Steve Jobs
