That's the place I was going to take my aluminum pipes to get welded, but wasn't sure if they did small orders/projects like that. Thanks for pointing it out.
If you have ever been working on your car and need some specific piece of metal for a project, it can be pretty frustrating finding exactly what you need. There are actually a few businesses locally that deal in metal sales and are happy to sell short orders to hobbyists. The place I use most often is called discount steel located in North Fort Worth. They sell aluminium, steel, stainless and other metals. And if you don't have a metal saw they can cut your material to the exact lengths you want. I have never used these services but they also do welding, plasma cutting, laser cutting, and even cnc machining. You can bring them a design made on google sketchup or even a design scribbled on a napkin!
Disclaimer: I do not work for these guys, am not getting paid, or discounts, or any sponsorship of any sort from them. Just thought other car enthusiasts may not be aware of what is out there.

Good to know, thanks.
+1 for Discount Steel. Ask for Neil Wasik... he's a great guy.
If you need tubing bent, anything laser cut and/or misc welding, you can also try "Go Industries" in Richardson. Their main business is making grill guards for Trucks & Police cars, but they will do small jobs on the side. One of the guys there is building a tube frame Cobra... hopefully I can get him to an AutoX event this spring.
I bought all the steel for the mud motor I'm building from them. They didn't even flinch when they had to order 20' of an odd sized piece of DOM tubing that i only wanted 6' of.
