Howdy,
I've been a member for a few months, but just lurking- ran into another member of dfwmiata at my work and he reminded me of the auto-x stuff you guys do. It seems there's an event at the end of January, can I attend? Do I need a helmet or SCCA membership?
I drive a 2011 NC2 btw. Glad to find some car/Miata nuts in DFW!

You only need to be an SCCA member for the SCCA events, even then you can get a weekend membership. All the clubs have helmets to lend.
The NTAXS will be having a winter autocross at Pennington Field in Bedford on the 29th of Jan. Their events have a cap and usually fill up fast, so don't wait too long to register online.
On the track, I am fearless.
If you were as slow as me, you wouldn't be afraid either.

We have loaner helmets, but you must have a headsock, which you can buy beforehand or just buy one at the event for $5. We require SNELL M2005 or SA2005 (or newer) certification for helmets.
