    Default DLP Lamp replacement

Factory replacement or after market at 1/2 price? Any thoughts?

How much of a dollar savings are we talking? I think I'd be inclined to roll the dice and go aftermarket.

Go OEM....I tried to save a few bucks and it only lasted 4 months. I bought an OEM Philips (already in the housing) the 2nd time around.

OEM will last longer and be less likely to explode which can damage your set or projector.

    OEM - $135
    aftermarket - $75

My wife found the receipt from the last bulb we bought, 3 1/2 years ago! OEM is the winner.

You may want to check with Frys Electronics if you need one right away. That is where I got my replacement for my Sony rear projection tv. I had bought the 5 year warranty so I got my one lamp free which cost the same as the warranty.
