The show was just ok. I get tired of Adam C.'s lame jokes.

Well, now we know that Top Gear USA could have been. Good show.
Adam certainly has a face for radio... or Podcasts as it is, these days.
I enjoyed it... especially considering it was the first episode. Those guys have WAY more personality than the TGA douchers. I'm a fan of Adam C's brand of humor (Man Show, podcasts with Bill Simmons, etc), and I thought Dan Neil was surprisingly good - I expected him to be a straight-laced Wall Street Journal hack. Matt Farah wasn't bad... I bet he's got potential. The only one I can't figure out is John Salley. Other than blackness, what exactly is he supposed to add? He didn't say much, but at least he didn't detract from the show. Looking forward to the rest of the season.
Did TGA even get renewed??? God that show sucked so bad...
Meanwhile... in 1986...

Yep.
The History Channel has renewed Top Gear, the American version of the long-running British car show, for a second season.
Top Gear has performed well, if not spectacularly, for the History Channel since its premiere last November. The combination of its recognizable brand name, hosts, guest stars and of course the cars themselves make for a compelling watch for gear-heads and pedestrians alike.
I thought it was meh, not a big fan of Carolla, and was suprised (and disapointed) that his racist joke/quip made it into the show. Low class, low brow (really? Fart jokes?).
Agree with the Sally comment. No reason for him there, that I can see (except fodder for more racist jokes?).
Top Gear UK has set the bar too high. Although the preview of chicks learning to drive sticks seems to have potential (nice to meet you, and you, and you). Best line of the show, and they should have used it for the premier..
I will watch the show, just not a fan of Adam C. Lines like "I beefed in back seat" and "where is the Grey Poupon button?" did not add much to the Rolls Royce segment in my opinion.

I lol'd at "beefed in the back seat" but that's just me...![]()

Didn't really think much of the show. Adam C wore thin about halfway through, and the segments really weren't different than TG, just lamer.
On the OTHER hand, I hadn't seen or heard of PINKS, and ended up watching that too. Even Amy liked it, so the evening wasn't a total loss.

better then top gear usa
The Car Show cuts John Salley & 30 minutes.

I think they are actually getting better. I wish they would have cut Carolla or the electric car pushing Dan Neil who seems really stuck up to me on the TV show, before Salley but so if life. The last episode I watched was an hour long but that was from last week or week before. Out of the hosts I like Matt Farah the most as a car guy.

Sally did not add much to the show and he was too damn tall for most sports cars.

Salley didn't add much so he won't be missed by me. I just hope the show can stick around for another season, but it's not looking good. I guess TGA is still going pretty strong, but I can't stand those guys.

I REALLY wanted to like The Car Show, but as it turns out, its just one big Adam Carolla infomercial...
Ironically, the tour of his garage and cars was one of the better segments to date, but also the biggest "look at me" moment of the show's history.

Don't look...there's nothing down here for you!
Farah is the only one on that show who is remotely watchable. That's why I'd rather check out The Smoking Tire than watch The Car Show.
Now if they'd add Lake Bell to replace John Salley I might actually watch another episode.
As for TGA, it's growing on me. Still nowhere near as good as the TGUK, but at least I'm not deleting it from the DVR before watching it anymore.
