Thread: Sad Day at Track Dog Racing....

Default Sad Day at Track Dog Racing....

Gary and his family have made the decision to put Molly down tomorrow morning.

For those who don't know, Molly is the original "Track Dog". She was Gary's black lab and she loved to fetch balls and frisbees. I'm gonna miss her. The last year she has really gone down hill and now has trouble standing. Poor girl was 14 years old.

If you want to send Gary a note, he doesn't check the forums so feel free to email him at gary at trackdogracing dot com.

    ...and across the line.

Molly will soon learn that her ball can't bounce over the wall and out into Coit Road in heaven. Glad I got a chance to throw the ball and frisbee for her.

It's never easy putting an animal down. Sad.

Sorry to hear this. Molly is a great dog. Loved tossing the ball or frisbee with her.

Outlaw is almost 11 and showing his age, so I know the day is coming.

I'll think happy thoughts for y'all. Molly will be fine. Glad she has owners who can let her move on instead of keeping her past her time. She is a happy dog who has lived a life most dogs would envy.

My boy only met Molly once and still wants to go back to throw the frisbee to her some more. She is a great dog.

Man that really sucks! Molly was a great dog and would fetch a ball all day long if she could. A sad day it will be.

    Dammit...

Our lab Lola has been fighting the big C since September. She's really starting to slow down, but every day we still have her around is a blessing.

Poor Mollerz. That dog was awesome. We give them the best lives they can have.

The privilige of sharing life with a pet brings responsibilities and rewards. I have given nothing to my pets in comparison to what they have given me. They know how to love unconditionally. Tears for Ms. Molly and words of sincere condolence for Gary and the family. Also, encouragement, there is another pet out there, waiting to love.

An exceptional way to put it. RIP Molly.

Everyone that threw a ball or frisbee to Molly will miss her energy and spirit.

"In Mongolia, when a dog dies, he is buried high in the hills so people cannot walk on his grave. The dog's master whispers into the dog's ear his wishes that the dog will return as a man in his next life. Then his tail is cut off and put beneath his head, and a piece of meat is placed in his mouth to sustain his soul on its journey; before he is reincarnated, the dog's soul is freed to travel the land, to run across the high desert plains for as long as it would like. Not all dogs return as men, they say; only those who are ready.”

I hope to meet her again when she is ready.

I'm about to cry here at work, lol. This is probably because I love my little kitty so much I can't bear to imagine a life where I don't have her biting me and ambushing me. I love how these animals can be so simple at times..."just throw the ball/frisbee/whatever and you're the best man on Earth." Hopefully Gary can find another dog in need of a home to fill the void in that shop.

I wasn't going to say anything since I don't know Gary or Molly, but I have to after reading 2K's post. I couldn't imagine not having our three little critters running around making a mess either.

And I got something saying that Ft Worth just opened a new ASPCA shelter. It might actually be further from him than whatever was out there currently, but figured it's worth a mention.

Actually Gary got Annie about a year ago. She is a yellow lab and full of energy. He knew Molly wasn't going to be around much longer and his hope was Molly could help train the new dog. He has another pal to keep him company. All is good.
