Default Posting pics on forums for sale--need tips

So I have a bunch of random items that I want to put up for sale soon, on a variety of forums and/or websites such as here and Ebay. It seems most sites require you to upload photos from a third-party site such as shutterfly, flickr, etc. So to me, the apparent process will be:

    Take pics with iPhone.
Synch with Mac at home and load into iTunes/iPhoto.
Transfer images to Shutterfly or somesuch site.
Post "for sale" threads or ads and link images from Shutterfly account.

$64,000 question: Is that still the best/quickest way? Or am I missing something that will save me some time in doing this? The process outlined above seems about 5 years old. Sure would be nice to cut out some steps, if possible.

    Thanks for any tips!

Are you using Icloud and can you link directly to your pics on Icloud?

Can't speak for iPhone, but the Andriod photobucket app has a setting that automatially uploads each photo *as it is taken*. Simply take photo, log into photobucket to retrieve the link. I believe Picasa has this functionality as well.

I'm sure the iPhone has similar apps or functionality.

I use Facebook and image links for just about everything. You can also use www.tinypic.com .

You can always email the pics to yourself, then upload to whatever hosting site - that's what I do instead of bothering with iTunes. Saves time, even if you are in the same room as a computer. As an extra bonus, you can even resize it when you go to email it to yourself if you want.

And to answer Jigger's question/comment, yes, you can upload directly to some picture hosting sites with an iPhone. I don't know if it's automatic (I have my own ftp server that I use instead of the common online stuff), but I know you can at least send pics directly to your account on whatever those sites are. I would imagine you can get it to be automatic with each picture, since I think you can even make it automatic with facebook and such if you so care to.

I just plug my IPhone into my computer and browse to it like it was a flash drive and download the pics. I hate dealing with ITunes!

    Interesting--and simple--thought. That works?

Yes. Last time I tried to *add* a picture to my phone that way, it didn't work. But grabbing pics from the phone to your computer works. But then you need to actually know where your cable is.

I will upload the photos through the Flickr app and then link to those. The CraigsPro+ app lets me just add the photos from my phone for CL ads.
    ...and across the line.

If you have an iPhone, you don't need to go through the computer -- just pick a photo hosting site that makes An App For That. If you don't have an iPhone, well... you don't have an iPhone.

Justin--no idea how you browse your iPhone photo library from your Mac.

Sounds like I need to download the Shutterfly or Flickr app to my iPhone to eliminate at least one step along the way. Thanks!

I would think it would be the same way you browse to a flash drive or camera. BTW you will only have access to the photos you took with your phone and not your other photos.

My Mac doesn't recognize a plugged-in iPhone as an external device like a flash drive...

What software version do you have? I have 4.2.8, and it pops up as a removable device. The only thing I can do is pull pictures from it though. I can't touch settings, I can't add pics to the folder, etc. Just drag them to the desktop or wherever else I want to save them.

I could have sworn it didn't let me do that before, but my phone didn't do a lot of other things it should have before I reinstalled the software. So I just brushed it off as that. But it's worked ever since I did the reinstall, even after I updated to the newer software later. I have a Verizon phone, but it should be identical software-wise. And I have Win7 on a PC.

This is the Apple device being intuitive and easy to understand. When it becomes overly intuitive like this it's time to spend another $4000 on a new Apple product that cannot be called a "computer".
