What's the appeal of the jiggle valve.

Doesn't appeal to me at all but from what I understand it's an innate preference that you are born with.

What's the appeal of the jiggle valve.

If you have a blown headgasket that is blowing combustion gasses into the coolant. When the air pocket reaches the thermostat it will cause it to stay shut. This makes the car overheat almost instantly. The jiggle valve will let the air bubble pass through. You can also just drill a small hole in the top of the thermostat.

If you have this type of problem you will usually see the coolant gauge move up and down really dramatically.

I, too, have a problem with my jiggle valve...must be getting old. (the jiggle valve, I mean)

I learned long ago to abstain from beverage intake while reading anything on this forum!

Kiddo, don't listen to these idiots! They are bored and just trying to give you a hard time since you're new to the wonders of the Miata.

Now, if you haven't already installed that spoiler, let me give you a helpful little tip. Turns out the designers of the thing went for show, not go. Spent zero time actually testing the thing, and accidentally created a design that actually decreases downforce. So don't be a minnow and install it like all the other fools out there! To make that spoiler do its intended job, do one of two things:

1. Install it at the rear, but upside down. You'll need to get creative with your hardware.
2. Install it on the front of your car, right-side up. By decreasing downforce at the front, Einstein will tell you that you are actually increasing downforce at the rear. which is what you want!

Do one of these two things, and you'll be a true "insider"!
