Jesus. Quit asking questions and go to an effing hardware store. Seriously, just go lurk on ClubRoadster. Ffffffffff.

Cant find screws / nuts at hardware stores. Atleast at the few places I went to that were open. Hoping I don't have to order through Mazda.

Drywall screws and JB Weld should do the trick.

Is this a forum if a twitter feed? I just dropped a deuce. I think I'm going to eat a sandwich now. Do you think I should make a PB&J or a ham sandwich? Where did I put that knife? Oh here it is. Ok. Time for some bread. Oh Jeeze? Smooth or crunchy? Strawberry or grape? What do y'all think? Maybe I should just order a pizza. Hmmm? Dominos or Papa Johns? Thin crust or deep dish? What ingredients do you think I should get on my pizza? Can someone come over and wipe my ass? I forgot how to do it.

Sounds like you have a leaky headgasket. It has probably been like that for a long time. The missing thermostat is a dead giveaway, as the previous owner probably removed it to help keep the car from overheating. If you put the thermostat back in the car will probably start overheating. I would watch the coolant gauge every 60 seconds and get a AAA membership immediately!

Do miata thermostats have jiggle valves?

I think the jiggle valve was an option on the Spec Miata only.

Didn't you replace some coolant hoses and all that recently? Would have been an excellent time to do the thermostat. Planning ahead is fun like that.

I'd probably go ahead and do the timing belt while you're doing the thermostat. I'm assuming it hasn't been done yet, going by all the other neglected maintenance posts you've been making. Did your full check up include telling you to get that done?

They are specifically barred from SM, they can only be run in SSM 1.6 cars, or fully turbonated encabulator cars.

I just pulled off an upper-decker and my overflow tank started bubbling because the jiggle valve wouldn't work.

My jiggle valve stopped working a long time ago!

Sorry, just felt like I needed to contribute.

Mark, I just spit beer through my nose when I read your post.

I, too, have a problem with my jiggle valve...must be getting old. (the jiggle valve, I mean)

Don't forget you need to make sure the jiggle valve is at the highest position if it is mounted vertically (like on a Miata) otherwise it isn't going to help much.
