Default Good Bye Dallas traffic and toll roads.

Linda and I are moving to Mineola, Tx. smack between Lake Holbrook, Lake Fork and Lake Hawkins. I moved the boat first.

I haven't been driving the Miata lately because frankly, I'm afraid too. I got rear ended on 635 while driving my pickup just before Christmas. The SUV that hit me would have gone completely over the Miata. That's it, I'm out of here. Hello winding country lanes, good bye toll roads and traffic.

    Y'all come see us.

My MIL lived at Holly Lake Ranch that is a nice area!

But watch out for those East Texas Racoons!

That still isn't to far from me Paul... Easily less than 90 minutes. I've been near there (through Quitman) a few times on the way to visit friends in Gilmer. If you are ever looking for someone to go fishing with you, let me know and I will make the drive!

God willing and the creeks DO rise. Most of the boat ramps are out of the water. I crossed Lavon on 380 the other day. Sad..

Yep... it looks bad from there, but the fisherman are still using the ramp near me. It is 12 feet down from "normal" but that isn't as bad as it sounds when you consider they raised the normal level by 20 feet in the 70's.

Fishing or no fishing, let me know if you ever need a hand out there with anything... You've been there to help me out several times and a 90 minute drive is nothing.

Congrats on the move out of the Metromadness. You will really like the driving opportunities that are available out here but you will probably miss the driving enthusiasts.

We got it all moved into a huge pile in the front room, but at least it's in the house. We decided to replace a lot of the furniture so we didn't have to move all three bedrooms. We still ended up with 4 pickup loads and filled the 16' trailer three times. I can't count all the times we said "what is all this shit?". Then I snuck off back to work and left it with her. We did decide to keep this huge sleeper couch we have and it will not fit through the doors into the house. I guess I get to find out how they are put together. Kind of like building a boat in the basement. Until then it's porch furniture. Both of our families are from the area and so far she has had company continuously but none of them have moved that damn couch.

I still have a 10' by 30' storage space full to move. Luckily the Miata takes up half of that. I'll be gone on the road for awhile to get rested up.

Hehe hafta go to work to relax. I thought you were an O/Op and if so why not borrow a trailer for the move? Glad you found a new home you like. I'm up for fishing excursions as well.

Wow - Minneola has a Nature Preserve? It has grown since I used to run up there from Tyler, but that was a long time ago. I miss living in a small town, but nothing as severe as your wreck has inspired me to move yet. Careful of critters on the road out there in God's country.

Good luck and stay in touch. I still want to one day build one of those nasty assault rifles you keep talking about.

My tractor trailer wont fit down the road I'm on. Those assault rifles are called wild hog rifles out here. Anybody got a thermal imaging scope they want to trade for sausage?

The hogs think they are assault rifles and it sounds like you already know about a website I was going to send you.

    PM sent.
