I have 2 cats here, my parents back in NY have a dog (Shetland Sheepdog) that I consider mine because I convinced them to get him and taught him all of his tricks.

    The cats (Neelix and Seven-of-Nine):

    Cats.
Wealth, power, and experience are apparently not enough to save us from social influences. Groupthink, as described by I.L.Janis, is the tendency for group members to reach a consensus opinion, even if that decision is downright stupid (Janis 1982).

Suppose I should start roughly in order. And I’m just putting up the Texas house animals (I gave a long-haired wiener dog to my parents when I lived in NY since I wasn't in the proper state of mind to take care of her as much as she deserved any more).

Chompie the Chihuahua. Wifey had him before I moved out here. He used to be tiny, but now he’s pretty big. Last I weighed him he was 12lbs, which was down from the 14 he was for awhile. He was maybe 8 when I first moved here. For a tiny breed, that’s massive.

Chomie’s usual vet visits. Sweetest dog ever, really, until he’s posted up on the couch sleeping, food is involved, or you try to touch his feet (the feet thing is ok with wifey and I now though)

Kitty. The only reason I got her when I was in Florida was because a coworker bought a puppy. Kitty (coworker named her Gizmo) didn’t play nice, and I was living in a house by myself with no other pets at the time, so I took her in.

One of the first few days she came out from hiding after I took her. Kind of figured she’d be trouble after this one. (Florida house)

Her usual spot when I do homework.

Petunia. Ah, sweet little angelic Petunia. Pure bred Papillon. Hopefully one day she will grow the adult coat that makes the breed famous. Most expensive puppy ever too. And not the cost to buy her, I’m talking about vet bills. It was literally once a week, if not more, for the first few months. The vet also said she was probably two weeks younger than we were told, which was way too young to be taken from her mother.

The car ride home with her.

    Quick size comparison

First meet and greet with Chompie (my mustache was for a photoshoot).

    Winter mode

Most recent pic. Hopefully she holds at the ~7lbs she is now.

After getting knocked out at the vet

All together now. Yes, the dog is sitting on the cat...that hates dogs

We get all kinds of strays for a few hours to a day or two since we're the very end of a cul de sac. We rehomed one cat, but the rest usually get picked up by their owners eventually. I'd say at least 10 so far.

These photos cheered me up, especially the one of the bionic cat attacking the refrigerator. Thanks for sharing.

She was trying to get me ice for my martini shaker. She actually got some cubes out of the bin thing and knocked them on the floor.

And you really can't hate on animal pics, so I figured I'd put up a bunch. I did think they were resized already though, sorry about that one.

I was enjoying a nice Shiner Dortmunder Spring Ale to go along with this weather. They taste a lot better when they are not coming out your nose.

    Have a mod fix it.

We are cat people. We want a dog but our schedule doesn't suit dog ownership.

What possessed you to create this poll? Very random, MiataPortajon-type thread...

Horses aren't mentioned in the poll... but we've got 3 of those in addition to the three dogs....small, medium, and large

+1 on Bo's Party Dog. I've never seen such a happy animal in my life.

Let's just say I need another dog if home protection is a concern.
