If I am correct the driveshaft also, I may be thinking of the 1.6 to 1.8 swap though
I am wanting to put a LS/Torsen differential in my 1999.
I am told that the Mazdaspeed one will work, however, you also require the axles since they are different from the base Miata?
What else will I require to make the conversion?

I also believe the MS dif has a different gear ratio than a 5spd dif so make sure you know what you are getting into.

In my '99, I put a Tochigi Fuji LSD from an '03. Direct swap for the open diff. No changes to axles or drive shaft. I got new oil seals and clips on the axle shafts, < $20. The gearing was the same 4.3.

MSM has different axles, not sure, but think standard driveshaft. Not sure what final gear you want, but the MSM has 4.1.

I forgot, I also replaced the diff bushings. I used the Mazda Comp ones. I don't remember the cost.
