Sorry if this is the wrong section most relevant one i saw. Well I want to get into autox but I'm extremely confused I'm only 17 for one so am I even allowed to participate? What are the prerequisites ? Can somebody clear this stuff up for me.

Key thing is to find out the specifics for the club you want to run.

Here are a few examples (Information from each clubs website)

SCCA - Texas Region SCCA allows any licensed drivers with a valid drivers license and have reached 18 years of age (or have a SCCA parental waver form signed by both parents or guardians). This form must be printed in color.

ER - Equipe Rapide allows any licensed drivers with a valid drivers license and have reached 18 years of age (or have a parental waver form signed by both parents or guardians). This form must be printed in color.

North Texas Autocross Series (NTAXS) - Written, signed, and notarized parental consent is required for licensed minors 16 or 17 years of age in order to participate (as driver or passenger) in the event. If the parent is not to be present at the event site on the day of the event, then you must get confirmation of permission from the event’s coordinator prior to the day of the event.

BMWCCA - Licensed minors 16 years and older may participate in the event only with written parental consent. If the parent will not be not on site, confirmation of permission must be made by downloading and printing the minor waiver IN COLOR. Parents will need to sign the waiver and have it notarized and the minor participant must bring it to the event and present it to the event chairperson.
