Default Cars and Coffee Dallas, 4/7

I will be there to reveal Stevan's work, which has been given the name "The Rotten Banana". Who else is going?

    Weather forecast for Plano:

Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 78. South southeast wind between 10 and 15 mph.

Wile I did get it inspected this morning, there are still a few little things I need to do. While on the smog dyno, I noticed a slight wobble to the rear drivers-side wheel (where most of the the impact was). I swapped wheels side to side when I got home and confirmed that the wobble doesn't move with the wheel. I replaced the rear subframe and the upper and lower drivers-side control arms prior to taking the car to Stevan, and last night I replaced the driver-side axle that was leaking, so that just leaves the upright/hub. Looking at it with the wheel off, it is not centered in the upper control arm flange, so that seems to be it. I figured it would crack, not bend because it is cast, but I guess I was wrong. I have the part here from my parts car so I will be installing it this evening. Besides, after all this time, I am willing to wait for C&C.

You should swing by and pick me up. That way I won't have to wash any cars...

I can do that. I will probably have Colin with me, if so I'll be in the CR-V.

Someone please hand me a fish: Details? Time (I'm well aware it's a "get there early" kind of thing, but when is "early")? Place?

I've never really paid attention to the C&C locations out here simply because I knew I wouldn't make them. But the *only* thing on my Saturday to-do list is that stupid dwell reducer, so I actually stand a chance to make this one. And I'm intrigued about how/why a car earns a nickname of "Rotten Banana."

It officially starts at 8, but from what I hear there is little chance of getting parking in the show lot by that time when the weather is nice. It also officially goes to noon, but many start leaving as early as 10 and it is a ghost town by noon. My advice is get there no later than 9 to look and between 7:15-7:30 to show.

I'd be going to look, so 9 is perfect. Thanks, guys!

POS - my java is disabled. Appreciate the effort though.

On a side note... if you are a camera geek, show up as early as the cars do. It is pretty hard to snap a pic when there are thousands of people walking around.

Me too. I will be bringing my new motorcycle. A Kawasaki KLR 650. Yes. I actually bought a big bike.

    ^That.

I'm going to try to make it; I'm moving between Friday and Sunday though, so who knows.
