I really didn't want to take it out I didn't need to on my NA but I needed the room on this one... I was just going to use Loctite on it but this stuff was like a plumbers putty.

    Yep I did this!

Too much going on today so I plan to get in the garage first thing in the AM and try and finish it up on Sunday.

    Stupid question of the day!

Can you pull the rear main seal without draining the oil out of the engine??

Yes, the oil is much lower than the seal.
Use a seal removal tool, don't score the crank.

Huge thanks to onething who showed up yesterday uninvited and unannounced to the Casa de POS and helped me get the transmission stabbed back in the car. His help was greatly appreciated!!!

Also thanks again to lostlorin for the use of his very nice transmission jack! As well as providing me with tools and transportation for all of all the items!

Now hopefully over the next few nights I can get this car back on the road!!

Well took a couple days off for a summer cold...

Just got back from the first drive and she is done! No parts left over or anything!

If I could do it all again I would have taken it to Miata Solutions and had Stevan do it. But all in all I did enjoy the project!

Thanks again to Onething and lostlorin!!

Hey Onething I made a mess of my garage floor with all the blood, oil, and transmission fluid I recall you telling me you had a sure fired way of cleaning up concrete.

    What was it??

It was used before every engine was built at Ralphs. Best I ever found for bare concrete.
