Default Who installs tops around here?

I have a brand new Robbins top that needs to go on my NA. One with the extra wide back window. I'm not sure I want to do this myself.

    Who installs convertible tops?

It's not that hard to DIY....plenty of write-ups on miata.net. Just remove the top (frame and all) from the car first.

Track Dog and Miata Solutions will only install Robbins soft tops. If you want an eBay top or something TCB, you'll either need to install it yourself or find another installer. I installed a Sierra brand top once (about the same price as Robbins interestingly) and it was crap. When I compared them side by side you could see the efforts made by Robbins to make a quality product. Worth every penny IMHO.
    ...and across the line.

See, that's what I've always read too, but from my recent asking friends that I know have done a few, they all say it's quicker to do it with the frame on the car. They say 4 hours by themselves, on the car, all with various forms of HD rollbars. I'm planning on pulling mine completely for other reasons, but numerous people have told me it takes them less time to leave the frame on the car. It's still one of the very few things I have yet to do myself, which I even find very odd, so I kind of want to try it both ways. But having only one Miata that averages 23 years on a top, that probably won't happen any time soon.
