2:20 is cooking. Nice job!
I did my first open track day at Eagles Canyon today. Their "open" is open to non-members, therefore they are open - track days, rather that open track - days. We ran in groups, each group getting four sessions. My guess is that there were fewer than 50 cars, about 10 of them Miatas.
The first sessions were very wet, I was on some old RS2's and was slipping and sliding all over the place, but stayed on track. Several cars had two or more offs in the session. The rest of the sessions were dry so I switched to my Nitto NT01's. Several people left after lunch and even more after the third session. I think there was only seven cars in my last session. It was like I had the whole track to myself. I was able to lower my best lap time by almost 2.5 seconds. My best is now 2:20.856.
I really had fun. But, I'm going to try to make the PCA autocross at Mineral Wells next weekend. I enjoy both autocross and track days.
On the track, I am fearless.
If you were as slow as me, you wouldn't be afraid either.
