Default Fast Fridays - 6/8 - Texas Motorplex drag racing, any car welcome!

Texas Motorplex will feature 20 Fast Friday events in 2012, allowing for even the most novice racers to get laps under their belt like the pros! Fast Friday events will be a prime opportunity for participants and fans to rev their motors for several specialty events including the spring NHRDA Texas Diesel Nationals in April, Super Chevy Show and Mega Mopar Action Series’ Mopars at the Motorplex in May, Fun Ford Weekend in September and plenty more.
Fast Friday is designed to not only allow participants valuable track time to prepare for a weekend of competition, but also gives street racers a chance to drive their cars down the famed quarter-mile monster that is Texas Motorplex.
Want to see the view NHRA Funny Car legend and champion has when he lines up to race at Texas Motorplex? You can! If you are a legal driver with a street legal car… you can race at Texas Motorplex.
WHERE: Texas Motorplex, Ennis, Texas. Track is located on Hwy.287, two miles west of Ennis, between Interstates 35 and 45.
WHEN: Most Fridays between April and October
WINNERS: The community wins with Fast Friday! The open track allows all drivers a chance to fulfill their “need for speed” in a safer environment. Fast Friday is meant to help regular racers tune their super-fast cars, but also curb illegal street racing throughout the DFW Metroplex.
    SCHEDULE: Gates open 6 p.m. Open time trials: 7 p.m. – Midnight
TICKETS: Race for just $15, watch for only $10 (children 5 and under are free). Every ticket includes a pit pass.
Pretty much anyone who wants to show up in any car that can pass the most minimal tech inspection can race here, and its a nice facility. The last time I went, I did 15 runs in just over an hour, and could've done even more. It might be more crowded in the summer, but it should still be little-to-no-waiting and there are tons of "regular" cars to play with, its not all 500+ hp monsters.

Last time I was out there was in my old miata with Adam Payrot, his '94 vs my '97. I think the lowest we ever ran was in the low 15's (mostly stock with a few bolt-ons) Curious what the turbo pig can do. Might have to go down some other friday night.

I remember going to these in high school, the lines were LONG though like 3-4 passes in 3 hours. Looks like smaller crowds now. Curious to see what the 335 will trap on corn gas.

Only been to one track and it was only 1/8 mile so I may be up for this, but not today.

On the track, I am fearless.
If you were as slow as me, you wouldn't be afraid either.

I'm at the beach house in Port Aransas till Sat, so I can't make it this week. Check with CosmosMPower; he was thinking about it.

Not going. Got out of work too late and a trip back down 75 did not look like fun. Next Friday might work.

Anything over 75 degrees is hot at a drag strip, since you have to run windows/top up and no AC is ever allowed. It wasn't too bad after 9 pm.

14.875 isn't too bad for naturally aspirated. Wish I could have gone to see what the MSM can do.
