Worst case: rats.
Thought I'd give this a shot...
2000 BMW 323 4 door. Cluster gauges went berserk then stopped working (speed, tach, fuel, & temp). A/C now not blowing cold. Back light on gauges still work. Checked fuses, all seem to be good.
Mr. internet said there are some batteries in the steering column that might be due for replacement. Has anyone done this job, or it is something that's too much of a hassle to deal with (i.e. you need to be a contortionist/need special tools).
Any other thoughts or suggestions?

It's a BMW, so those batteries can't be cheap. You might as well total it.

Don't you just trade in your BMW on another newer BMW when it gives you problems??

Your BMW has the exact opposite problem that my friend had. His AC and stuff would come on randomly while car is not even on. When will people learn not to buy BMWs![]()
