Looking for a local shop that can rebuild trannys.

Has anyone used Dan Pedroza's shop in the Austin area? I've got two 6-speeds I'd like to have gone through before using them.
You're going to pay $500+ in labor to have someone dig through a transmission that's worth $600 to see if its okay? The problem with the 6-speed is 4th gear shearing over 350whp, some break at 275whp on extended usage. You have about $1200 in transmissions, another $1k in labor down the pipe...just get a T5/T56 adapter, T5 trans, then get a slave, driveshaft made, and custom clutch disk. You can only put so much power through a .5" wide gear.
I'm not sure about Pedroza's place, but anyone I've met who works on Miata transmissions only works on the 5-speeds. If you really want it done and Dan can't do it, find a shop familiar with the S2K trans. I know they're both Aisin 6-speed boxes, but I'm not sure about how different they are internally. I've heard the S2K trans and the Miata 6-speed use the same tools so that's a start.
