Default New from FL to DFW. Looking for car.

    Hello everyone,

Sold the 04 STi last week and making the move to TX the first week of July.
Looking for tips/leads on cars, it can be NA, NB, or NC. I haven't even fully settled on a miata yet. Price range is sub $15k. Was originally looking into the BRZ but decided to maybe wait a year. Anything RWD and manual transmission will be acceptable. Lightly modded is okay.
My one constraint is that I'll need to find a car within a week and a half of moving before I start my new job.

Looking for a very reliable DD that I can auto-x once a month.

Ill post up a picture of the STi when I get on the computer. It had Cobb exhaust and off the shelf tune, Ohlins struts, rce black springs, enkei rpf1, and a few other goodies.

    Thanks in advance,

    Jared

Thanks! Ya I'm leaning towards a 01-05 NB or 06-08 NC. I need to do some test drives though.
I haven't found as good of deals on NC's yet as I thought I would.

Here a picture of me with my previous car right before I sold it.

Jared, welcome! I might have just the car for you, and well under your budget limits. I was just about to list my 06 NC, which is well setup for STR, but still a comfortable daily driver. I can offer it with or without most of the upgrades (coilovers, exhaust, CAI, reflash), as I have all the stock parts. Also have a couple of choice for wheels/tires, since I have a DD set and an autox set.

the car is pretty quick, having trophied at National Tours and ProSolo's several times.

Pm me or send an email address for more info.

You can find NC's approaching $10K these days. NB values are dropping, just like NC's will when the next gen comes out.

A few factors added up to me selling it. Was going to cost $500+ to move/register/inspection, was ready for a change after owning it for 3 years, didn't see myself keeping it for more than another year, car's value in Florida was higher than DFW, and had been wanting to go from awd to rwd.

Can you point me in the right direction?
    Most NC's I've found with 60-80k miles are $12-13k. The NC's around $10k have $100k+ miles.

If you wait until later in the year (Nov-Jan), you'll find better deals on convertibles.

Another option for a good daily driver/weekend autocross toy would be an AP1 S2000. I picked mine up last year ('01, 75k miles, new top, new seats, RPF1s, a couple of dings) for $11k.

Just make sure to use the OEM oil filter and check to make sure it's tight occasionally. Don't ask me how I know.

Those RPF1s on your Subi should fit the NC if you haven't sold them with the car.

No, they won't '04 STi (and other Imprezas) used a 5x100mm bolt pattern. '05+ Sti and NC use a 5x114.3mm bolt pattern.

Silver with tan top and leather. Pictures tomorrow.
