Default Hate being the "new guy"

Gotta be the "new guy" at some point. Here is my new ride. Just bought it about 3 weeks ago. I've been wanting a Miata since they came out and finally have the opportunity to own one. I'm kinda glad I waited because I really like the NC body style. My brother owned one for about 12 years and finally sold it a few months back. He had told me what a following these little roadsters have, but I had no idea until I started reading up on all the mods you guys trick your Miata's out with. Not sure I'll be doing the major mods, but I've already found some minor stuff I would like to tinker with.

I haven't searched enough to know the answer to this question, but are there any active Miata clubs around the DFW area? I wouldn't mind getting involved if there are. I'm a bit north but I drive to the metro quite often.

Anyway, looking forward to reading up and having a blast driving my new ride around.

Welcome to this! Nice looking car and kind of looks like Billy's old car maybe he will chime in. Only real clubs are here and Lone Star Miata but they have little interest in mods and performance events. Depending on what you want to do there are a few places in DFW that can help you.

    Nice looking car.

Hey awesome see you made it over here.
Thats a great car, and well taken care of.
That car in its current state would be a nice autocross car, thats where I was going with the mods I did to it but just couldnt bring myself to autocross that car...lol

The brake pads might need looking at, its about time, but other than that the car is in tip top shape.

This is great! Billy filled me in on all the details of what he put into this car. For once it seems I got more than I bargained for! I'm pumped about all the fun stuff this car has, that the dealership had no idea was hiding under this red paint. And I discovered this from two posts on MX-5 message boards! I can tell you guys are going to be a great tool and fun community.

    Thanks for being so welcoming!

Yes!! I was going to ask you about that Billy! Save it. We'll do a ride soon, share info, and I'll get that from you. They need touched up. Heck, if you miss it a lot, I would be more than happy to bring it down so you can spend some quality time under the hood!
