Welcome!
Intro time,
I have been lurking for a while. I bought my first Miata a couple of months back. It is a '99, silver with tan top and interior. The body and paint are in great shape, and the top is almost new (although incorrectly installed, I will be getting around to fixing that). The interior is in decent shape considering the age. The leather seats are worn out, but the carpet and dash is pretty good. The drivetrain has 150K miles on it and it shows. The engine and transmission are still strong, but the suspension is worn to the point of being a hazard.
All of these things combined to make this the perfect Miata for me. I bought it specifically so that the guys over at Vorshlag could do a V8 engine swap. I am sure they are planning to crosspost a build thread on this forum, so I will let them go into (excruciating?)detail about the plans once they get started.
As for me, I live in the Flower Mound/Highland Village area. I went to college at Texas A&M, and was active in the autocross scene there. After I graduated, Job/Wife/Kid got in the way of racing. Now I have settled into a job with normal days off, my daughter is getting old enough that she is starting to think cool cars and racing are fun, and I really don't care what my wife thinks. It's time to start racing again. I thought about being normal, and buying a decently fast, affordable car, but how much fun would that be.
